No Fly Zone: Xavier Scott Patrols the Skies

Xavier Scott is a rising star in college football, currently playing as a standout defensive back for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini. Born on December 19, 2002, in Riviera Beach, Florida, Scott developed his athletic skills early at William T. Dwyer High School, where he excelled in both football and basketball. A three-star recruit, he committed to Illinois over offers from Air Force, Florida Atlantic, and Pittsburgh, citing the strong family atmosphere and culture of the program as key factors in his decision.

Preparation is my edge. I study you before you even step on the field.

Since joining the Illinios, Scott has evolved into one of the most dynamic defenders in the Big Ten. After making his first start in the 2023 ReliaQuest Bowl, he became a full-time starter the following season. In 2024, he delivered a breakout year, recording 49 tackles, four interceptions, and a sack while leading all Big Ten cornerbacks in snaps played. His performance against Kansas—where he logged eight tackles, two interceptions (including a pick-six), a sack, and a forced fumble—earned him national recognition, including Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Defense isn’t about reacting. It’s about knowing what’s coming before it happens.
